Go Shave! Dove Takes Care of Your Underarms!

Let's be honest mommies, shall we?  One of the body parts we are most insecure about, maybe next to our bulging tummies, is our underarm.  Raise your hand or say "uh-hmmm" if you think so.  I wonder, why do we look at our underarms as something very intimate that we're too shy to show it off?  Come to think of it, it's just an extension of our arms right?

But, I also have answers to these questions myself.  It's because most probably, it's dark, damaged, and rough, that of course, we really cannot be proud of to show or flaunt.  We all know by now that some of the causes of dark underarms are harsh chemicals from deodorants, unwanted hair removal through excessive shaving or plucking or waxing, and simply total neglect to these poor armpits of ours.

So what do we do?  We just hide it by always wearing sleeved tops or when wearing a sleeveless shirt and when we do a group hug or raise a hand in classes/meeting or hail a cab, we do not lift the upper arm, it's glued to the body so there's absolutely no way that our underarms would show.  Funny but sometimes true.

Some Facts About Shaving:
-   70% of Filipinas rely on shaving fora quick and convenient underarm hair removal.
-   When you shave, 1/3 of what you remove is actually skin, which leads to underarm darkening.
-   Shaving the underarm skin leaves it irritated then becomes bumpy, dry and dark with continued shaving.
I learned all about this when I attended Dove's #DoveGoShave event.  The good news is that Dove deodorant is here to take care of your underarm worries and woes. It has a unique 1/4 moisturizing cream, which I believe can't be found in any other deodorants our there.  The moisturizing cream soothes underarm skin from irritation and helps repair damage caused by shaving, making our underarms lighter and smoother.

The event was hosted by Patty Laurel-Filart and Saab Magalona who each shared their underarm stories.

They welcomed on stage Dra. Anna Palabyab-Rufino of the Philippine Dermatological Society says, “Shaving is practically considered a necessity as women want to remove underarm hair, which is why using a deodorant with moisturizing benefits on a daily basis is the perfect way to care for your underarms.”

Later on, Apples Aberin, Unilever Philippines’ PR Head also joined the stage and shared “In line with Dove’s mission to provide real women with real care, we want to encourage them to go shave, and enjoy their lives fully because Dove deodorant takes care of their underarms,” said

Honestly, I stopped shaving for nearly four years already after experiencing the darkening effects of it.  I shifted to waxing every two months.  Although it has helped in thinning my underarm hair and making it smoother due to lesser friction, having to grow the hair first before waxing is too inconvenient and sometimes leave me an yucky feeling.  It's also very limiting when it comes to clothes, plus having to schedule a salon to have it done is hassle.  Isa pa, magastos.
Putting my hands up in the air and waving like I just don't care!  Thanks to DOVE Deo! :)
Going back to the event, everyone got our customized Dove Deo Care Kit, which contained items such as shaver, shaving cream, a complete collection of Dove Original deo products, and a sleeveless top, among others. And because Dove wants women to share the care and their Dove deo stories, attendees were able to personally mail a Dove Deo Care Kit to a loved one!

Dove Deo shares the care with all Dove girls around the Philippines. For the price of a regular roll-on or aerosol, you not only get a limited edition Dove Deo pouch for free, but also a chance to win a Dove Deo getaway to El Nido with two friends, by redeeming the code inside to join the raffle.

I've been a Dove deodorant user for as long as I can remember.  I personally love using the roll-on because it glides smoothly on my underarm skin and it dries quickly.  I also don't feel any friction when I apply it.  I also don't feel like I applied too little or too much.  Personally, it has helped me achieve a smoother and lighter skin.  AND yes even when I'm pregnant now when my underarms are expected to be really dark due to hormones, I noticed that it's not as dark as they were during my first two pregnancies.
I'm really glad, DOVE assured me that I can GO SHAVE because Dove will take care of my underarms!  I put my trust in Dove as I've been putting on it for the longest time and now, I can be reunited with my shaver with a peace of mind.
