Elmer's Grand Slime Time Fair And How To Make Jelly Slime

I always say, nothing beats first! Wes and I had a grand time during our very first slime-making activity at Elmer's Grand Slime Time Fair held a few weeks ago at Eastwood Mall Atrium. The event and workshop was FREE of charge to all attendees. Participants just bought their materials to be used to make different types of slime.

Wes loves Science, and for him making slime is an awesome experiment. Pouring ingredients, mixing, and eventually seeing the final result excites him. So he really looked forward to this event.

The Elmer's Grand Slime Time Fair was well attended by slime-fans such as my son, and I can say it was indeed a grand success!

Anyway, I also learned there are different types of slime one can make such as Jelly Slime, Crunchy Slime, Unicorn Slime, Sandy Slime, Frosty Slime, Glow In The Dark Slime, and Rainbow Slime to name a few. The very basic ingredient for all these is of course - Elmer's Glue! I've always thought it was complicated, glad the event proved me wrong.

There were different booths in the fair where ingredients were available for sale and instructions how to do them were displayed as well. Scattered all over the venue were friendly and Elmer's staff who assisted every child and parent who were so into making their DIY slime during the event.

They even sell Elmer's Slime Starter Kit and Frosty Slime Kit for that easy and complete slime project you may do with your child as a great bonding activity.

HOW TO DIY JELLY SLIME :
What you need:

Elmer's Glue 147ml bottle
Lotion
Shaving Foam
Baking Soda
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Gloves (optional
Jelly cubes (cubed sponges/foams)

Procedure:

In a mixing bowl, pour all content of Elmer's Color Glue
Add 1 tsp of baking soda
Add 1/2 tbsp of lotion
Add 1 tbsp of shaving foam. Mix well.
Add 1 tbsp of contact lens solution then mix. Repeat 5 to 6 times until slime reaches desired consistency (should be not too sticky anymore)
Add 1 cup of jelly cubes then knead it.
ENJOY playing with your Elmer's Jelly Slime!

We definitely had a great bonding time making a science experiment which I've always thought was too complicated and messy to do. It turned out to be easy to do and not messy at all! Just a few reminders by the way, tell your kids not to eat the Jelly Slime and to wash hands with soap and water after playing.

Fat Fook Launches Its Globe Tower Branch In BGC

Want an authentic of the most authentic Taiwanese cuisine that the country has to offer? Fat Fook is definitely what you're looking for. The fast growing Taiwanes chain, Fat Fook, opened its newest and fifth branch in the heart of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, The Globe Tower and it was my honor to host its intimate media launch last November 23.

Fat Fook is owned and managed by the same group that operates Ramen Nagi, conceptualized by the group's executive chef, Rachel Kao, who is born in Taiwan and grew up in the Philippines. Their expansion in the BGC area makes it very accessible to the professionals in the BGC area, which is a different target market altogether compared to their other four more branches located in different malls in Manila, whose target are mostly families

Fat Fook restaurant is proud to say that opening this branch is a milestone for them and what differs them from the rest are the following:

It is the only restaurant in the area of BGC that has a Take-Out counter which is perfect for its target market - the professionals- who are always on the go and don't have enough time to wait a long time for an authentic Taiwanese food to be served.

Their Taiwanese Street Food are as authentic as it can get as they are sourced directly from Taiwan and you couldn't get them from anywhere here.

The dishes are authentic Taiwanese but adjusted to suit the Filipino millennial palate.

The restaurants' ambiance is elegant but all the food in their menu are value-for-money.

All dishes are good for sharing of two to three people, so definitely the menu prices are very practical and come in friendly price points. Perfect for large groups of friends or colleagues and families.

Their menu has a wide selection of food to suit everyone's taste and preference, from meats, to noodles, dumplings, vegetables, and many more! Definitely there's something for everyone!

During the launch, a total of 17 authentic Taiwanese dishes were served to everyone plus 6 new additions to their menu to be launched by December. A real treat for everyone in attendance as we were the firsts to experience some of their newest dishes to be launched.

FAT FOOK DISHES:

Among all the dishes served that very filling afternoon, here are my top choices:

TAIWAN SAUSAGE

Are skewered pan fired authentic Taiwan sausage garnished with fresh garlic silvers. I like these sausages because the taste in the mouth at first bite is a heavenly mix of sweet, salty, and a little tangy because of the fresh garlic. Garlic is among my favorite ingredients when i cook. It surely gives any food a flavor kick which makes any dish tasty and smell good. I don't mind eating garlic uncooked because I am a fan of it. Plus it's also very good for the heart! This Taiwan Sausage is available at their Take Out counter, so that's a plus!

TRUFFLE XIAO LONG BAO

A soup dumpling with the twist of truffle oil served with black vinegar and ginger dip.

I have been saying that anything with Truffle is a winner dish for me. What is it about truffle that makes it that sumptuous? It's like a magic ingredient in this already palatable Xiao Long Bao. Did you know, that Truffle Oil also has a lot of great health benefits for us? Another fact is that Truffle is a type of an underground mushroom used largely in French cuisines to make dishes have a potent and unique flavor. The truffle in the Xiao Long Bao gave this dish a perfect high kick which made it to my top list.

FAT FOOK CHICKEN CHOPS

A signature dish deep fried breaded chicken fillet with salt and pepper.

I love that their chicken chops serving comes in a huge size which they proudly say is larger than your face. I tried to measure it, and yes it surely is big compared to other Chicken Chops in the metro. I love that it's crunchy outside but chicken remains to be tender. And did I say that the seasoning and burst of flavor once in your mouth is just right and you would surely can't stop munching this dish. This is one of their house specialties and why not? Every bite is a representation of the savory Asian flavor. On their new dishes, the chicken chops come in two other variants, Spicy and Cheesy - both popular flavors among the Filipinos. The Chicken Chops are also available in their Take Out counter.

Here are the other dishes which we had:

Tofu with Century Egg and Pork Floss – soft tofu and century egg in sweet and salty sauce topped with pork floss

Fried Stinky Tofu – a popular Taiwanese dish of fermented tofu served with sweet salty sauce and pickled cabbage

Pork Spareribs Radih Soup – deep fried marinated prok ribs then steam until tender in chicken broth and radish topped wansoy

Oyster Misua – fresh oyster in misua soup garnished with wansoy, fresh garlic and fried shallots

Pork Xiao Long Bao – a soup dumpling and one of the best seller served with black vinegar and ginger dip

Fried Intestine – deep fried pork intestine served with salt and pepper

Cua Pao – tender slices of pork belly and pickled mustard leaves sandwiched in soft whote bun. Garnished with wansoy and ground peanuts

String Beans with Minced Pork – stir fired string beans with stewed shredded pork

Oyster Omelette – fresh oyster with Taiwan petchay in egg drizzled in sweet pepper sauce

Black Pepper Beef – stir fried beef tenderloin chunks in black pepper sauce

Beef Tendon Hotpot – braised beef tendon in mild spicy sauce. Garnished with spring onion and chopped chili

Taiwanese Style Fried Noodles – stir fried noodles with pork strips and vegetables

Kiampong – steamed sticky rice with pork, mushroom topped with dried shrimp and wansoy

Rice Topped with Minced Pork – steamed rice topped with minced pork belly, yellow radish and stewed boiled egg, garnish with wansoy

Overall, I like my dining experience at Fat Fook at The Globe Tower because its ambiance is definitely fit for those with meticulous interior design tastes, their dishes are all for sharing with is a must for all practical moms like me, their menu prices are value-for-money, food are something unique and you could surely say authentic to Taiwanese taste, plus a designated Take Out counter for some easy and fast to order Taiwanese street food and milk tea (which comes in really large sizes with different sinkers to choose from). A must visit for groups of friends and families too!
