They say every meal time is family time.  A time to bond, talk, celebrate and connect with the people you love.  What better experience it could be if done extraordinarily right?  How about boodle style?  Sounds exciting especially for the children!

One Sunday afternoon after coming from church, we decided to let our kids experience boodle eating at Blackbeard's Seafood Island Restaurant in Robinsons Magnolia.  I first experienced Seafood Island Restauirant in Araneta Center branch back in 2008 when my friend met me there for some drinks.  Since then, I've been coming back for the experience which I also share to family and friends.

Blackbeard's Seafood Island, Seafood Bonding Extreme!

As you enter the restaurant, you would instantly feel as if you were in an island or a resort.  The pipe in music is all but Reggae which gives you a relaxing beachfront feel.  The ambiance Seafood Island brings is very welcoming too.  Even their interiors and staff uniforms are remembrance of one of the islands you've been too.  Just imagine surf boards, coconuts, Hawaiian prints and lifesavers, the works!

That afternoon we ordered Dapitan's Pride good for 3- 4 persons.  It was a right mix of veggies and meat.  Although you'd expect it was all seafood, we chose a boodle set with a little pork in it.

Blackbeard's Seafood Island Restaurant's Dapitan Pride consists of:
  • Kalkag Rice or Java Rice
  • Grilled Squid
  • Sanmig Clams or Halaan
  • Laing
  • Grilled Tilapia
  • Grilled Porkchop
  • Crispy Shrimps
  • Steamed Crab

This Ensalata was complimentary because the restaurant at that time was packed so it took a while for our Laing to be served.  Great customer experience right?

For our drinks, since we wanted to keep the beach feel, we ordered shakes!  We had Ripe Mango and Surfer's Chocolate Shake to complete the meal!

The boodle feast we ordered was just enough for us.  We even had to take home some.  Anything seafood, hubby and I would dig in!  The kids particularly loved the idea of eating on a banana leaf and just get whatever food is served (or still available) in the middle.  You may choose to eat with your bare hands or use utensils.

My elder son even said that he wants to have lunch here again on his birthday.  That wish came true when we came back here last Easter Sunday.

BLACKBEARD'S SEAFOOD ISLAND RESTAURANT REVIEW:
Service was good because waiting time was on the minimum level.  Their staff were courteous and were smiling most of the time.

Food was ok but not very exceptional or as fresh compared to Dampa or Seaside Paluto in Paranaque or MOA.  They are not limited to boodle feasts only, they have a variety of food to offer like appetizers, ala carte seafood/shellfish/crab dishes, meat dishes, vegetable dishes, soups, rice dishes, desserts and drinks.

Cleanliness of any restaurant is very important and this one passed my Mommy standards.  A hand wash area was nearby, tables were neatly set before guests settle.  When guests leave, they also clear it up immediately.

Price.  Their menu price is affordable and value for money.  You wouldn't feel you've been robbed off after dining in because your over-all experience was worth it.  You may pay in cash or credit card.

Our family at Seafood Island Restaurant in Robinsons Magnolia.  We enjoyed Dapitan's Pride so much!

  7. Nice experience! We also had the chance to eat on the same resto and ordered one of their boodle serving and it was also an awesome experience for the family. In fact, we copied the idea and did the same at home exactly how we had it at the resto.
