Today is the 7th day that I am Yaya-less to my toddler. As a working mom, for as long as I can remember, being able to do the rituals with my children is something that I wish I could do everyday. But it's something that schedule doesn't permit regularly when you are working away from home.
Although hard as it seems, being yaya-less gave me the opportunity to bond with my kids, especially my toddler. I felt the essence of being a hands-on mom daily for the last seven days. Things I do every weekend, now I get to do daily. True, having no yaya could shake my regular schedule, make me file unplanned leaves, let me go to work on a later schedule and make me have to deal with the guilt I feel when my toddler holds my face and tells me: "Don't go to work Mommy ha?"
It's tiring, but I'm happy. It's demanding, but fulfilling. It's hard, but my KIDS are happy. At the end of the day, that's what's important, their happiness. When they are happy, I am happy. So while I'm on search for the Next Yaya Sensation, I will be doing these loving duties everyday. :)
As a working mom, did you ever experience being yayaless? How did you cope up? Do share. :)
