One of the most beautiful things that this quarantine brought to my life was learning how to bake.  I've always wanted to learn how to make the cookies I oh so love!  That's why I got thrilled when I received the Quaker Oats Cream Pie Kit, an original recipe of Chef Miko Aspiras,

If you're a beginner baker like me, you'd definitely like to try this kit that will make you warm up to baking.  Here's what you can find in the kit:

When you order a kit, you'll receive the complete set of ingredients to be able to make Quaker Oats Cream Pie Recipe except butter and egg.  The recipe card is even easy to follow!  The result is even better!

First step is to mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl, then the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.  Then slowly put the dry ingredients into the other bowl.
Instructions said to use a mixer, but I don't have one so I mixed it by hand.   Make sure that while you're mixing all the ingredients, you're pre-heating the oven to get ready for baking.
Drop dough with a large cookie scoop, or make sure each ball of dough is 2 tablespoons. Cookies will spread in the oven, so drop each ball of dough 3 inches apart.  Bake for 10 minutes or until cookies are lightly golden around the edges. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
The cream filling is also easy to do, just mix all the ingredients and spread it in the middle of two cookies to complete the whole Cream Pie experience.
Look at that!

The verdict?!  It's a blockbuster hit in the household!  I even had to do another batch because the boys loved it so much!

What made this recipe a lot more satisfying for me is the fact that it's made with Quaker Oats - a healthy natural source of Iron to help build immunity - immunity that we need these days.  I didn't really think of oats apart from breakfast.  But I learned that you could get all creative in the kitchen and make sweet treats and savory dishes using oats - such as this recipe by Chef Miko Aspiras!
