Exciting activities both young and old enjoyed (myself included!) were also happening in PLDT Home Bro's booth. My elder son and I tried all of them actually! First activity we joined was their Family Dance-Off! Lakasan na ng loob sa pagsayaw with my son because really nice prizes were up for grab like tumblers, umbrellas and USB. Siyempre set an example to your children diba, that's why gora sa pag-dance si mommy! :) Here's the evidence:

We danced “Teach Me How To Dougie” together via Kinect console where of course we got high scores each. In this round, my son won. He said, “Mommy, first time that I beat you in Dance-Off ha!” I replied, “Well of course anak, we’re in a public place, I got too shy dance all out.” Yes loves, nahiya pa ako sa lagay na yan! I was actually the one who pushed him to join because favorite home-work out game ko yan!

Another fun activity was the Ultimate Bundling Experience. Get a chance to pick-a-prize too when you're able to catch at least 10 plans and bundles within 30-secs. Unfortunately, we only caught seven! We wanted to try again but there was a long queue after us who also wanted to try the game.

What I also enjoyed doing over and over again was having pictures taken together with other blogger friends by their PLDT Panalo Mall Tour’s roving photo booth. Instant print outs na, anytime, anywhere pa ang kodakan! :)

Now, here’s the most titillating part of my afternoon, I got to see, talk and (sayang hindi touch and kiss) take a picture with the host of the main event, Mr. Luis Manzano!

I was star struck when he came near me seriously! He’s more good looking in person I must say. He’s also very articulate and he smells good! When he went down the stage, I wanted to volunteer to shout “PANALO” for him, kaso naunahan ako ni P of The Soshal Network eh.

Mr. Luis Manzano, unveiled the two stars of the event: PLDT Home Bro Bundles Plan 1069 and Plan 1799.

Later into the program, si hubby Macky parang nagising this time when the 15K girls came out dancing with their briefcases.

A mini Deal or No Deal game was played by two opposing families. Congratulations to Sta. Ana family who won the grand prize!

Two families competed with each other to advance to the jackpot round.

After the program, all the invited bloggers were invited to go on stage to take a photo with the good looking host, Mr. Luis Manzano.

7 Life Lessons Flappy Bird May Teach You

Recently (two nights ago to be exact) I've been playing this new and popular mobile game application called Flappy Bird. Oh yes! I got hooked too! Are you playing it too? I bet you are. But if you haven't yet because you are not one who joins the bandwagon or simply because you don't have time or because you think you won't be able to handle the frustrations your friends feel when you see their Flappy Bird posts on social media, then you might give this game a chance after reading this post.

While for others (ok I admit I'm one of them) this game is just really addicting, I feel that it could do more than just serve as an entertainment or something to pass time with. You may be unaware but Flappy Bird could actually leave you valuable life lessons. Let me enumerate what I've taken away with this game.

Life Lessons From Flappy Bird:

1. Life will always have its UPs and DOWNs. Just as your Flappy Bird goes through one pair of pipes after the other, you navigate it by flapping up and down. It reflects how life is, sometimes we're up and happy about everything. But at some points in our lives we're down, either with sickness, heartbreaks, failed projects or worst, death in the family. We just have to go through all of them in our lives and accept that they are parts of living.

2. You can get through each problem. Don’t give up. As your Flappy Bird goes through those pipes, which I could resemble to life challenges, so can you! There are no problems that cannot be solved. First of all, pray for it, then act on it. Don't give up, there's always hope in every uneasy situation we're in. It's just a problem, you have a greater God! :)

3. Perseverance, focus, and patience are important keys to success. To get to the top or be the successful business person you aspire to be, right attitude, hard and smart work are needed. There's no such thing as overnight success. Work for it. Just like when you get a medal for your high scores at Flappy Bird, it took you those traits mentioned to be able to achieve them.

4. Your attitude to frustrating moments in life could either make you or break you. You choose. There are times when we do something we are passionate about, something that we've aspired for ourselves and we just don't get the results we want, it's either you break down and give up OR you study the situation and look for solutions to be able to make it. Remember, Thomas Edison took 1,000 failed experiments before he finally came up with the successful working light bulb! Oh, and please, don't do this:

5. Strive to Better your Best each time. While for others, Flappy Bird is a competition among their peers, beating each other's high scores, for me, I perceive it as a competition against nobody but myself. There will always be better than me or not as good as I am, that's already a fact. But there's no point in comparing yourself with others in the journey called life. I always say to myself, that I should be better, I should improve, I should do the best I can and when I've done my best, I should better that best. Why? Because I have people who I care for and who depend on me. I should serve as their guidance, their role model, their inspiration so that they will also strive to be the best persons they could be. These are my hubby, my children, friends and people who believe in me at work. Isn't inspiring others better than beating others? Flappy Bird could teach you that after doing better each try and attain a higher score over your other high score. :) (Yup, those are my scores!)

6. Practice does not make perfect, but it does train you to get into the rhythm of life. Fine, first up to my 20th tries on Flappy Bird, I got 0 to maybe 10 scores only. But practicing over and over got me into the flappy rhythm and sooner or later, it made me reach scores higher than 30. This lesson applies to life too! You don't always get everything right away at one to two tries. It takes practice. Just like when I breastfed my toddler, it was painful and hard at first, but after many tries coupled with the desire to give the best for my child, I succeeded and actually enjoyed it so much because I know that I'm giving him the best milk mother Earth could ever have.

7. When life hits you at any point in time and you’re at rock-bottom, you can always start again. Doesn't it irk you when the GAME OVER sign flashes on your mobile phone screen when your Flappy Bird hits one pipe? But what do you do? You press the play button and start all over again! In life, there will be some point when you will feel pain from a relationship breakup, or for instance a failed marriage, but in order to live, you got to pick yourself up, move on and start all over again. As the song goes, "starting over again, it's not the easiest thing to do.." it's true! But when you have faith in the Lord you could do it. Seek support from family and friends, you'll survive. I've been a single mom to my son Dandre for several years after the failed marriage. I started all over again, came out of the situation as a stronger woman and didn't let the life tragedy ruin me. Remember, when you're down, there's no way to go but up! Start all over again.
