A Baptismal Reception with Monster Meal Deal at Shakey’s Philippines
My bunso was welcomed to the Christian world in 2011 at
Malate Church. For the reception, there were a number of nearby restaurants to
choose from in the area. Most of them
were already booked two months earlier.
Fortunately, Shakey’s was
still available so I reserved it immediately.

My impression of a baptismal reception was that it should be
a little formal compared to birthday parties.
I was hesitant at first to hold the event there because the ambiance of Shakey’s seem to be casual compared to those
nearby restaurants with function rooms such Max’s,
Aristocrat and David’s Tea House to name a few.
That impression changed after I was assured of a unique
baptismal reception experience coupled with lower cost of food order and
competent staff, specifically the event/marketing officer named Sweet
Javier. Based on my encounter with him,
he’s a hardworking, talented, fun-loving
and outgoing person.
RESERVATION
Upon confirming availability of the venue, I visited the
branch and paid at least P2,000.00. The
remaining balance and other fees shall be paid after the reception
finishes. An event and order contract with
specific instructions was executed and signed.
Unfortunately, there was a little mishap happened due to an overlapping reservation made by another client on the same date and time. As an appeasement for the inconvenience, Shakey's offered us freebies to go along with our package which made us happy and relieved.

AND PARTY PACKAGE
What’s great
about Shakey’s was you have a lot of food options to serve since there were no
packages specific to baptismal. Options were: birthday party set packages; Set Menu such as Bunch
of Lunch or their group meals. I decided
to order several sets of their Monster Meal Deal.
Monster Meal Deal is good for 10 – 12 persons which only costs P1,859.00 Php 2,450.00. It includes the following:
- Carbonara Supreme Platter
- Spaghetti Supreme Platter
- 2 family size pizzas (Manager's Choice and Pepperoni)
- Chick n' Chips Party Pack (Chicken with Mojos)
- 3 pitchers of Coke products
I had
an intimate celebration for only 80 guests, so ordering 8 sets was more than
enough. I became happier upon knowing
they may also serve it buffet style. The promise of a unique baptismal reception experience was delivered. I definitely recommend Shakey's to be your next party venue either for baptismal or birthday celebration.

Hi Louise, I got here though your events page. :) Wala kasing Shakeys dito, I somehow missed the food chain, so here I am. Hehehe. The package is something I would consider pag may family occasion. Thanks for sharing. :)

ReplyDeleteSo apart from the Monster Deal food packages, what else did you pay for? How many hours were you allowed to use the venue?
ReplyDeleteWell, I paid stuff outside Shakeys na like invites, giveaways, Church fees and the cake. For Shakey's that's it. I used the venue from 11 - 1 but stayed til 2pm. :) Thanks for visitin @5b7135971e287ac79cafa15d17ba35b9:disqus

For the balloon decors and ice cream, is it realy free from them? I hope you can still remember by now and hoping to hear from you soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHello Rose! The Balloon decors at Shakey's Malate were free to me as their appeasement for some matters which weren't handled by them properly. The ice cream came with a cost. :) Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHello Karen, the number of persons will depend on the size of the Shakey's branch. No minimum order, but for you to be able to book a room, I think you need at least 30pax. No hidden charges on the monster meal deal. Of course you just have to pay for the VAT which is usually 12% Thanks dear! :) Hope this helps. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Louise! I'm planning for my son's Christening Party and I think Shakey's will be a good choice. I want to ask if you paid for any party fee. Most fast food chains I've checked have party fees but reading your post, I think there was no party fee mentioned or did I miss it? I'm not interested in having party games since most of my guests are adults so a sweet yet short program will be more than enough. I'm just wondering if I still have to pay for the balloons, table toppers, decorations and party hosting. These are usually included in the party fee of other restaurants. I hope you can reply to this the soonest. Kindly shoot me an e-mail! Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteHello Lily! Thank you for your message. I didn't pay for a party fee because I didn't get any of their party packages which includes party favors and food packages. I just reserved the room, guaranteed their minimum order requirement (I got 8-10 Monster Meal Deals) and then that's it. Balloons and other decors are not included. It also depends on the branch if they could offer program hosting. It's better to call the branch of your choice for their offerings. :) Hope I was of help to you! :)
