Hello loves!  Remember a few weeks ago I had something done on my face and even posted a photo of myself with the topical anesthesia on?  For those of you who missed it, this was the photo I was talking about:

eMatrix Sublative Rejuvenation Treatment
Now, I am ready to share with you what it was.  I had eMatrix Sublative Rejuvenation Treatment done on my lovely (opinion ni Daddy Practicality yun) face.

I've long before wanted to pay attention to my skin.  Since my age is no longer in the number of days in a month, I though to myself, all the more that I should be taking care of my skin because I do want to age gracefully.  It's easier to improve the face than lose weight!  I'm sure most of you will agree! :)

True there are a lot of available products there in the market.  Believe I almost tried them all!  Some worked and most of them didn't  The product that really targeted my skin concerns and worked extra wonderfully for me, was of course, the most expensive and if I have to buy it, I think I couldn't afford maintaining it.  It was just sent by my aunt from the US.

So, when I was one of the lucky selected women approached to try this treatment, I said yes.  Let me tell you more about the  eMatrix Sublative Rejuvenation Treatment.

eMatrix Sublative Rejuvenation Treatment targets the following skin problems:
  • Mild to moderated wrinkles
  • Red and brown spots (sun spots)
  • Textural irregularities
  • Scars
  • Acne Scars
  • Superficial skin lesions
  • Skin laxity or sagging skin
My face has most of the skin problems above.  Hence the treatment was calling specifically my name to have it done.   By the way, there are three Sublative Rejuvenation programs.  Each program is designed for different types of skin problems to target and it has different levels of impact on skin.
  1. Sublative Rejuvenation Program A - has Shallow Impact, with minor ablation, dermal heating and skin resurfacing; improves overall skin tone and texture
  2. Sublative Rejuvenation Program B - has Mid-Level Impact, with mild ablation, dermal heating and skin resurfacing; for color and textural irregularity correction
  3. Sublative Rejuvenation Program C - has the Deepest Impact, with moderate ablation and skin resurfacing
MY EXPERIENCE AND FACIAL PHOTOS
When my face was applied with the topical anesthesia, I waited about 30 - 45 minutes until it effected.  My face was numb enough to even feel my lips quite thickening.  It's need, not because it's painful but to minimize the shock you may feel when the eMatrix machine starts to work on your face.

My face mostly used programs B and C since my face is no longer that young.  The brow and upper eyelid areas were also treated because they were sagging, as per my beautiful  dermatologist, Dr. Barbara Uy.  Sides of my nose and upper lip areas were also treated.  The treatment lasted for only 15 minutes.  It's short and sweet.  No crying moments actually, the facial (with pricking) is more painful.

No downtime because I went back to work the following day.  Washing of the face the first time (the following morning) gave me a stingy feeling, but succeeding washes were normal.

Appearance of the matrix dots on my face lasted for 2weeks.  It was rough to touch and to some of my friends and colleagues it looked funny, weird and robotic.  My hubby and kids were a little scared because my face was literally dotted.  I look at myself and find it really different and funny.  But I was definite that it will bring a big improvement on my face.

Now, the moment of truth is here.  Let me share with you pictures of my daily face transformation after the treatment.  Most of these are macro shots, so you will see the vastness of my skin imperfection and problems.  So make sure you are not eating at this moment ok?

Day 1 shows redness due to the treatment.  The matrix or the dots also appeared light here.  But from Day 2 on wards, the dots are more visible actually blacker and it really appears like a matrix that if you stare too long, you will be drawn to it.  That's how a friend described the dots on my face.
No pain felt all throughout the days following the treatment.  No uneasy or discomfort as well.  Just the dots. :)

The first week after the treatment day, the dots were all visible and yelling "hey-look-at-me!"  But starting Day 7 onwards, the scabbing started and little by little the dots disappeared.  It started under the eyes, nose, then cheeks.  The last few parts that shed off were the forehead, jaws and chin areas.  Notice on Day 13, my skin is visibly lighter and I could definitely say, it has made a big improvement.  The acne scars lightened, the sunspots lessen if not all disappeared and it feels tighter.

Overall, I'm happy with the result and I am looking forward to more improvement as the weeks go by.

The collagen underneath the skin continually activates due to the energy from the eMatrix Sublative machine.  Which means it will continually produce healthy skin cells which will definitely help in making my skin clearer, smoother and tighter.

I'm sure at this point, you're more curious about the treatment I went through.  Here are some frequently asked questions about the treatment which I lifted from their website:

Does it hurt?
Topical anesthesia was applied on my face before the treatment.  During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters the skin.  I felt it too but it was not painful at all.  But it depends on the patient actually.  I have high pain tolerance so I guess that's why it wasn't really painful.

What recommended skin regimen should be done after the treatment?
  • I was told to not wash the face that night, but do so in the morning.  The first wash morning after, I felt a sting on my face.  But washes after that went back to normal.
  • Generous amount of sunscreen lotion should be applied during day.  the higher the SPF number the better.  More sunscreen should be applied on the side that is more exposed (for example when driving, the left side is more exposed, put more on the left.)
  • No toner should be used while the face has the visible matrix dots.
  • No product with glycolic acids should be used.
  • At night, putting moisturizer on the face is a must.  Scabbing of the skin is expected to happen several days after the treatment.
  • It's important not to scratch it (it is not itchy anyway) nor try to peel or remove the skin intentionally.  It will just fall off naturally in no time to reveal a new, lighter, smoother and clearer skin.
So there you have it.  The much-awaited reveal by my friends, colleague and you my readers as well.

  1. Is this like needling-yung pinapass ang maraming needle points on the face (I am not sure about its name but I read about it years ago)?Tama ka dun sa face na lang sis. I am having a hard time losing weight too kaya ang sinasabi ko "sa face na lang" haha. I am prone naman to dry skin and spots (i inherited my mom's freckles - pati nga kamay ko meron hihi. when i was little, freckles, ngayon ang tawag , ngayong oldie na, age spots hehe). After I gave birth andami kong spots and they were dark ha. Parang nasabuyan ng ink ang mukha ko (puwede kang mag dot to dot). I did Obagi NuDerm-stressful kasi pricey but super effective naman. Now, wala na akong pang-obagi hehe but i use corrEsthetiques. How much did your Sublative Treatment cost?

  2. Yes something like that. The matrix handpiece has tiny needle-looking dots, but they don't prick nor they hurt. They press energy onto the skin. I also used Obagi (that was the brand I was referring to which actually worked wonders for me - kaso couldn't maintain it because it's too expensive!) I'll PM you the price. :)
